Substance Abuse Counseling

Whether you’re cutting back, curious about sobriety, or ready for a full reset, you don’t have to do this alone. Shame, secrecy, and “I should be able to fix this myself” keep people stuck. Support—and a clear plan—opens the door. We’ll also focus on (re)establishing your sense of self while building sustained recovery—however that may look for you.

Our Approach

We’re compassionate, evidence-based, and flexible. No one-size-fits-all here.

  • Identity & recovery together. We’ll help you (re)connect to who you are—your values, boundaries, and voice—while designing a path toward sustained recovery in the form that fits your life.

  • Harm-reduction or abstinence—your choice. We’ll define goals that match your values and season of life.

  • What we work on together: cravings and triggers, stress and sleep, relationship repair, boundaries, routines, and relapse-prevention you can actually use.

  • Modalities: Motivational Interviewing, CBT/DBT skills, trauma-informed care, and nervous-system work to calm the body while we change the habit loops.

Whole-person support: with your consent, we can coordinate with prescribers/primary care or recovery communities and map out a clear safety plan.

How it works

If you’d like to speak with a therapist, visit our Contact page. We’ll schedule a 15–20 minute consultation to make sure it’s a good fit and answer questions. From there, we’ll find a time for your sessions and send simple paperwork to get started.

Substance Use FAQ

  •  No. We support harm-reduction, moderation, and abstinence. We’ll start with your goals and adjust as you learn what helps.

  •  Relapse is data, not failure. We’ll refine your plan—update triggers, skills, and supports—so the next attempt is smarter and gentler.

  •  We treat the whole picture. Many clients benefit from skills that target anxiety/depression and trauma-informed care alongside substance goals.

  •  Yes. Sessions are confidential within the limits of the law and your signed consents for any coordination of care.

  •  It varies by goals. Some clients come weekly for 8–12 sessions; others prefer longer-term support. We’ll outline a plan and revisit it together.
